LONDON - Being in the limelight is not something new for a seasoned actress like Meghan Markle.
The Suits star, who will soon be married to Prince Harry, has become the cynosure of all eyes, with the paparazzi constantly following her every single move, ever since the announcement of the couple's engagement.
However, years of experience in the show business could not make Meghan immune to the pressures of being in the public eye. This became all the more evident, ever since she started making public appearances with Prince Harry or other members of the royal family.
The 36-year-old actress has often been spotted fidgeting with her hair in public, which, according to body language expert Elizabeth Kuhnke, is a sign that Meghan is trying to remain calm in the midst of all the chaos, reported Independent. Photo: Reuters
“It’s the adult version of a child clutching favourite toy, mother’s skirt or father’s hand when feeling anxious and not knowing what to do or say,” she said.
Kuhnke also clarified that the same hair-playing gesture would not necessarily have had the same connotation if Meghan would have been in a private setting.
“When feeling nervous--knowing millions of people are watching and judging--tilting one’s head down and playing with hair is a tell of the psychological state of the need to shield or protect herself,” she explained. Picture courtesy: Facebook/Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
This understanding of Meghan's gesture could be probable, especially with the woman having taken upon herself newer responsibilties after her engagement to the Prince. In fact, the idea of forgoing one's earlier life as a commoner, to become a member of the most famous royal family in the world, in itself, is quite a huge affair.
