PM in waiting Imran Khan's strong response surfaces over deadly bombing in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD - In Afghanistan,at least forty-eight people were killed and sixty-seven injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at an educational center in Kabul today (Wednesday).

Taliban have denied their involvement in the attack.

Earlier, forty-eight Afghan policemen and soldiers were killed when Taliban attacked a military outpost in Northern Province of Baghlan today (Wednesday).

The defence ministry confirmed the incident but gave no details.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid said the group targeted a military base and two checkposts in Baghlan, killing 70 Afghan security forces, and seizing a number of armoured vehicles and ammunition.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan called for the fighting to stop, saying up to 150 civilians are estimated to have been killed in Ghazni, where the public hospital is over crowded with the injured and water and electricity supplies are cut.

The top U.N. official in Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto in a statement said that extreme human suffering caused by the fighting in Ghazni highlights the urgent need for the war in Afghanistan to end.

Prime Minister-in-waiting, Imran Khan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Afghan capital Kabul.

He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the incident.
