My health is fine, offers prayer in jail cell, says Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Convicted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is currently serving in Adiala jail, has said that his health is fine and offers prayers in his jail cell.

In an informal conversation with journalists after hearing in NAB court, Nawaz Sharif said that he meets with his daughter Maryam Nawaz only in meetings day with visitors. He also informed that his health was fine.

To a question, the former prime minister said that he offered his prayers in the jail cell because he was not permitted to go in the mosque. Today, Nawaz Sharif appeared before NAB court as it resumed hearing of Al Azizia and Flagship corruption references against him and his family.

On the other hand, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that all people of Pakistan protested on the treatment which was given to the former prime minister. He told that Nawaz Sharif instructed him to play main role in the National Assembly.

However, Shehbaz Sharif announced that he will completely uncover the alleged rigging in the recently happened general election.

Earlier on July 6, Nawaz, daughter Maryam and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar were sentenced by an accountability court in the Avenfield reference. The court handed an 11-year sentence to Nawaz and 8 years to Maryam, which they are serving at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. APP
