ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday has hit out against those raising slogans against the Judiciary after life time disqualification verdict.
He remarked that slogans of ‘Long dead judiciary’ were raised after disqualification case.
His remarks came during the hearing of media commission case in Supreme Court.
Expressing resentment, the CJP said that women are bring forward as a shelter however; they would have come at forefront themselves if had any honour.
During the hearing, additional attorney general Rana Waqar told court that the government has formed a seven-member committee for the selection of chairmen Pemra which constitutes of prominent journalist and chairman PBA.
The commission will choose three-member panel for the chairman Pemra in three weeks.
The Chief Justice remarked that the process will take much time. “The urgent issue is of the appointment of chairman Pemra,” replied Waqar.
“We also don’t want to work against the law. An honest person should assume the office of chairman Pemra,” urged the CJP .
“Article 5 of Pemra law is quite open,” added Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
“If the judiciary is weakened, media will also have the same affect. If uor stance is not accurate then you should also stop speaking. We cannot advise the lawmakers for amendment in the law,” said the CJP
