India has surged to the second spot in the ICC ODI Men's team rankings, displacing Pakistan to third place, after Pakistan's loss to Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup's semi-final in Colombo.
Australia currently leads the rankings with a dominant rating of 118, facing stiff competition from India, closely trailing with a rating of 116. Pakistan, once the frontrunners, now occupies the third position with a rating of 115. Australia's recent upset against South Africa in the third ODI of their ongoing series has opened the door for India to potentially reclaim the top spot, a position they held until March 22nd earlier this year.
As of September 14th, 2023, the latest ICC ODI Rankings firmly place Australia in first place with 3,061 points, India in second place with 4,516 points, and Pakistan, following their defeat, holding 3,102 points on the charts.
