Over 100 officials of Sindh Police involved in heinous crimes in Karachi: Report

KARACHI - Over 100 officials of Sindh Police have been identified for their role in street crimes and different acts of crimes, “Dr Amir Shaikh, Karachi Police Chief has revealed.

Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Omar Shahid Hamid said that police arrested a man Zuhaib for his involvement in a robbery he had conducted on 2nd of this month.

Police found that a motorcycle was used in the crime and when they reached to the original owner Saifullah he informed police the he had sold out the bike to a jail official name Moeed Khattak. When inquired of jail, the police were informed that Khattak had been absent of job for the last twenty days. The police conducted raids and arrested Khattak.

Khattak has confessed several acts of street crimes and robberies in Defence and Clifton areas of the city.

Separately, Defence police arrested Dildar Ahmed alias Deshi and recovered one hand grenade and a stolen motorbike from his possession.

“The held suspect is linked with banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM),” claimed SSP South Omer Shahid Hamid.

He along with his other accomplices had prepared four ball bombs, which were thrown at Zamzama in Clifton, Samama Shopping Centre in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Saddar and Safoora Chowrangi, respectively, in the year 2014.
