In Quetta, the leader of the Baloch Liberation Army's Abdul Majeed Brigade, known as Saddam Hussain or by aliases such as Muslim, Guru, and Jabbar, was eliminated in an intelligence-driven operation by security forces, along with his associate.
During the operation, another terrorist named Maqsood, who was Saddam's accomplice, was also neutralized. Substantial quantities of weaponry and explosives were confiscated from Maqsood's possession.
Over the course of two decades of counter-terrorism efforts, security forces have successfully eliminated a significant number of terrorists associated with various extremist groups. Notably, many of those neutralized were individuals directly involved in attacks against Pakistanis, leading to heightened tensions among various terrorist factions.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), in collaboration with India's intelligence agency (RAW), has been known to amplify the BLA's relatively low-level and cowardly acts of terrorism on social media for propaganda purposes.
Moreover, Pakistan and China are set to sign new agreements for highway development as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Saddam Hussain initially joined the Baloch Liberation Front in 2008, where he received training in the use of light and heavy weaponry, as well as landmine placement, at a terrorist training camp in the Mishke area of Balochistan. Subsequently, in 2014, he joined the BLA and was promoted to the position of a secret training camp commander in Kech district in 2017. By 2021, he had risen to the rank of a local commander.
During this period, Saddam was involved in 93 terrorist incidents, which included grenade attacks, mine explosions, and targeted assassinations in various areas of South Balochistan. Tragically, these acts of terrorism resulted in the loss of 131 innocent lives and left 177 individuals injured.
