SP Tahir Khan Dawar martyrdom: Pakistan lodges strong protest with Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has lodged strong protest with Afghanistan over delay in handing over body of martyred SP Tahir Khan Dawar.
Superintendent Police Tahir Khan Dawar's body will be brought home to Peshawar via Torkham border in a helicopter, the information minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said on Thursday.
Information Minister KP Shaukat Yousufzai informed that he will be receiving the martyred police officer's body at the border, and will be accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi.
SP Tahir Dawar, who went missing from Islamabad on October 27, was found dead in Nangarhar two days ago. His martyrdom was confirmed by the Afghan government earlier this week.
Pakistan earlier lodged a protest with Afghanistan over the delay in handing over SP Dawar's body.
“We summoned the Afghan diplomat to the Foreign Office twice,” Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said during his weekly press briefing in Islamabad today.
