45 Afghan policemen including police chief killed by Afghan Taliban

KABUL – 45 Afghan forces including the Police Chief have been killed in Afghanistan by Taliban.
As per media report, 45 policemen have been killed in an overnight attack on an Afghan police outpost in western Farah province, officials said Thursday.
The onslaught on the outpost in Farah’s district of Khaki Safed began late on Wednesday and continued for more than four hours, the 1TV reported.
The district’s police chief, Abdul Jabar, was also killed in the latest attack.
Retaliatory airstrikes killed 17 Taliban fighters but the insurgents still managed to get away with a huge cache of weapons and ammunition.

Three days ago, at least 29 police and eight civilians were killed after the insurgents attacked Khost village of the district.
Meanwhile, the Khak-e-Safed military base which was transferred to Tape Surkh area of the district has fallen to militants.
