Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif has said it is unfortunate that United States is unnecessarily escalating the conflict with Iran.
On arrival in New Delhi on a two-day visit he said, Iran does not seek to escalate the situation but it had been only defending itself.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified since U.S. President Trump pulled out of a 2015 international deal to curb Iran's nuclear activities and imposed increasingly strict sanctions on Tehran.
