KABUL – US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells announced the US approval of Kabul application for exempting Chabahar Port from the US sanctions.
Chabahar port exempted from US sanctions She made the remarks in a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani on Monday.
Rabbani, for his part, appreciated the US for continuing assistance to his country.
Referring to Afghanistan Peace Talks, he said that internal and regional consensus play significant role in achieving sustainable peace.
Alice Wells arrived in Kabul on Sunday and has so far held talks with President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah. - APP/IRNA
