IHC gives decision over Asif Zardari bail plea

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad High Court gives decision over Asif Zardari bail plea in Fake Bank Accounts case.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari has filed another plea in Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking pre-arrest bail in Fake Bank Accounts case.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted interim bail to former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in two of the ongoing inquiries, including Opal 225 and Park Lane, against them till June 12.

On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Zardari has filed a pre-arrest bail application in the IHC, seeking its directives for barring the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting him in an ongoing investigation into Haresh and Company case.

The petition states that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Asif Zardari on Thursday for probe in a company case where his arrest may take place, hence, the court may accept the tabled plea in order to bar NAB from making the arrest.

Reiterating the stance on the accountability wave, it has claimed that former president is being targetted intentionally on the basis of political revenge.

Details of NAB inquiries are mentioned in the plea where Chairman NAB and Deputy Director have been made parties.
