Asian Development Bank Director discussed new financing for various mega projects in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Asian Development Bank Country Director for Pakistan, Ms. Xiaohong Yang called on the Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs.

They discussed new financing for various programmes and development projects.

Further Pakistan and United Kingdom have agreed to enhance cooperation in the areas of trade and economy.

The understanding came at a meeting between Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said Pakistan has long historic ties with United Kingdom and relations between the two countries needs to be further expended for the mutual benefits of the two sides.

He also briefed the envoy about the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, saying his policies will lead to the social and economic development of the country.

The High Commissioner felicitated the Advisor on the assumption of charge as Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance. He said that both countries enjoy excellent relations and there is need to further promote their economic relations.

He informed that the British Airways would be coming to Pakistan in June this year.
