Presiding over a meeting of Irrigation Department in Karachi today (Thursday), the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to take strict and indiscriminate action against water thieves all over the province and make progress on the cases of water thefts by arresting the responsible.
The caretaker Chief Minister said that influential land owners are exploiting the small growers by stealing their water due to which water does not reach the tail enders and their agricultural lands are going barren.
The Chief Minister was informed that water situation in the province is satisfactory with 81327 cusecs of water at Guddu Barrage but the main cause of water shortage to small farmers is water theft by influential people.
