LAHORE – New developments reported from LHC over issue of Maryam Nawaz Sharif name on ECL.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) sought a reply from the federal government for placing the name of PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz on the exit control list (ECL) on January 21.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi heard case.
Maryam Nawaz’s counsel contended that the father of Maryam Nawaz is critically ill and she wants to go abroad to look after him.
He appealed to court to remove her name from the ECL.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Interior Ministry placed the names of PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz, MNAs Rana Sanaullah and Javed Latif on the exit control list (ECL).
Rana Sanaullah has been placed on the ECL for his involvement in the assets beyond means and drugs recovery cases. Moreover, the name of former senator Waqar Ahmed Khan has also been placed on the ECL.
