ISLAMABAD: The forensic report and the DNA test of the little victim Zainab and the suspects involved in the rape, murder case have revealed some new facts about the killer.
Killer of the little girl, Zainab , who was brutally murdered after sexual assault in Kasur, does not seem to be a serial killer, says chief of a forensic laboratory on Monday.
Dr. Tahir Ashraf, DG Forensic Lab said the DNA of Zainab’s killer did not match that of anyone else; hence, he does not appear to be a serial killer.
Dr. Tahir said, “We have DNAs of serial killers,” adding the culprit in Zainab incident will be captured if he is in Kasur.
Little Zainab went missing on January 4. Her body with torture marks was found dumped at a garbage pile on Road Kot area of Kasur, five days after her disappearance.
Conducting the probe of the murder of little girl, the investigators have interviewed a lot of local people in this connection and compiled separate lists of people considered positive and negative. A lot others have been made to have DNA test. However, the killer is still at large.
The law enforcement agencies failed to get any major success to arrest the culprit involved in rape and murder of the minor girl.
Earlier, police released two new images of suspects. One clearer picture of the suspect, who was supposedly seen with Zainab in a footage, was released earlier this week.
Punjab Inspector General (IG) Arif Nawaz assured that police would soon apprehend the culprit as all agencies were working towards the goal, but admitted that “there has been no major breakthrough so far”.
The process of DNA test of the suspects is underway.
The joint investigation team (JIT) is probing into the rape and murder case of Zainab and eleven other children before her in Kasur.
