Coercing Pakistan for US failure in Afghanistan will not work, NSA Naseer Janjua tells EU
ISLAMABAD - National Security Adviser Nasser Janjua has reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment towards peace in Afghanistan and the region. He was talking to a delegation from European Union, including EU special envoy to Afghanistan Roland Kobia and EU Ambassador to Pakistan Jean Francois Cautain in Islamabad on Monday.
The National Security Advisor highlighted the complexities of the perpetual conflict in Afghanistan and briefed on the role played by Pakistan to fight the menace of terrorism.
He underscored that a cooperative framework is required to resolve conflict in Afghanistan and stressed the need for a political solution to the conflict.
He said that coercing Pakistan will be unhelpful and it will not take us anywhere.
The envoy expressed his commitment to advance European Union's contribution to deliver lasting peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and in the region.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and for regional peace and stability.
