ISIS claims responsibility for Jakarta bomb blasts

JAKARTA: The self styled terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for Jakarta bomb blasts on Thursday in the heartland of Indonesian capital that killed at least seven people and injured over dozen.

Syrian civil war has been the role model and aspiration for many fundamental muslims in Indonesia and many have traveled to Damascus to join the ISIS fight in Syria and Iraq.

The spokesman of the Indonesian National Police claimed that all attackers have been identified and they had affiliations with Islamic Caliphate ISIS or Daesh.

It was the major terrorist attack in Indonesia since the 2009 bombing of two hotels that killed seven and injured over 50.

Previous Bali resort bombing by terrorists in 2002 had killed more than 202 people in Indonesia most of them being foreigners.
