NAB approves number of inquires and investigations in various corruption cases

National Accountability Bureau has approved thirteen inquires, seven investigations and filing of three references in various cases of corruption.

The Executive Board meeting of NAB was held in Islamabad on Thursday with its head Javed Iqbal in the chair.

The Board gave approval to thirteen inquiries including two against former MNA Ghulam Rabbani Khar and former Federal Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, and two each against former Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board Siddiqul Farooq, and former Managing Director Pakistan Bait ul Maal Barrister Sheikh Abid Waheed among others.

The anti-graft body also approved seven investigations. These are against former Prime Minister Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi and others.

Addressing the meeting, NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal said corruption is the root cause of all evils and the Bureau is committed to eradicate this menace from society. He said first and last commitment of NAB is with Pakistan.
