“Hug less, work more”, says Congress to Modi as Valentine’s Day message

“Hug less, work more”, says Congress to Modi as Valentine’s Day message

NEW DELHI: On Valentine’s Day, the Congress tweeted a heart-infused video to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with “love” and a little bite. “Spread love, not jumlas,” said the message, with a popular Bollywood song as its theme, reported NDTV.

The minute-long video posted on Congress’ official Twitter handle says, “Dear Mr Modi, A happy Valentine’s Day from us to you.” Among its many digs, the party urges: “Hug less, work more” and “Break up with hatred”.

Congress is the opposition party in India, which often criticizes the BJP-led government.

This was the second message from the Congress aimed at the BJP. Earlier in the day, the Congress had posted on Valentine’s Day a sketch – two red hearts, a white moustache and a saffron scarf – that sought to spread the message of love. “This day and every day, we hope that love continues to win over hate,” the party tweeted, taking a cue from its chief Rahul Gandhi, who had said recently that the Congress would “respond with love to every attack”.

The BJP has not reacted to the tweet yet.APP/AFP
