Traditional Winter festival of Christmas kicks off in three Kalash valleys

ISLAMABAD - A week-long winter festival of Chitramas started in three Kalash valleys of Bumburate, Birir and Rumbur in Chitral on Saturday.
Chitramas also known as Choimus is among the three annually held events celebrated by Kalash.
Different unique cultural festivals are part of the main carnival including slaughter of sacrificial goats, traditional dance and making effigies of different animals with wheat flour.
A number of foreigners including a team of French tourists are in the valleys to watch the festival.
