Who is the most Googled woman in the world

Meghan Markle is the most Googled woman for the second year in a row, and now she's the most searched woman in the whole world, too.

The search engine giant released its “Year in Search” on Wednesday, a collection of lists organized globally and by country.

It's the go-to site when you need information or questions answered, and now Google has revealed its top trends for 2017. The vast list includes the top searches of the year, which range from India national cricket team to iPhone to Meghan Markle.

Besides Prince Harry's future wife, the list for the Most Searched Actor (Global) includes as well as Kevin Spacey, Gal Gadot, Louis C.K., Meryl Streep, Bill Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Tom Holland and Maia Campbell, among others.

The Most Searched People (Global) list's big names include Matt Lauer, Markle (again!), Harvey Weinstein, Michael Flynn, Kevin Spacey, Bill O’Reilly, Melania Trump, and Gal Gadot, among the names who made that list.

The iPhone, not too surprisingly, ranked high -- specifically the iPhone 8, which hit No. 2 on the global search list, and the iPhone X, which ranked third. The top trending worldwide term was Hurricane Irma.

Google's 2017 trend lists are based on search terms that had a high spike in traffic in 2017 as compared to 2016.

These lists can be broken down based on country, or a global list is also available.

Meghan Markle's engagement to Prince Harry also features heavily on the top searches around the world, while Matt Lauer's firing from NBC after allegations of 'innappropriate sexual behaviour' led to him topping the most searched people in the US.

Other people on the top global list include Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Gal Gadot and Melania Trump.

Some of this year's biggest news events also feature prominently on the overall list.
