4.6 earthquake jolts parts of KP

PESHAWAR: An earthquake of high intensity jolted various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday, but no causality or property loss was reported from anywhere.

According to the geological wing of Pak-Met, tremors measuring 4.6 on Richter scale were felt in various areas of KP including Peshawar, Chitral Lower Dir, Mingora, Ghazar, Shangla, Charsadda and Malakund Division.

People of the areas where the quake was felt rushed out of their homes in panic reciting verses from Holy Quran.

However, no human or property loss was reported from the areas where the earthquake was felt.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the border region of Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush mountain.
