Sixteen member cricket squad for England, Ireland series expected today

LAHORE: A sixteen member squad for Pakistan’s tour of England and Ireland is expected to be announced today.

Moreover, today is the last day of the five-day fitness camp taking place at Gaddafi Stadium, after which it is expected that a 16-member squad for the upcoming series will be announced.

The camp is being held under the supervision of coach Mickey Arthur, along with chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi.

Fast bowler Wahab Riaz was a missing name from the 25 members who have been called up for the camp.

It is expected that Faheem Ashraf will be added to the squad as an all-rounder. Ameer Hamza and Imam-ul-Haq are also expected to make it into the squad.

Pakistan will begin their tour with a four-day warm-up match against county side Kent before taking on Ireland on April 11 in a one-off Test match: the first-ever played by the Irish.

Pakistan will then return to England for a two-test series, followed by two Twenty20 internationals with Scotland.
