Cross border attack on military check post at Afghan border

PESHAWAR – At least two security official sustained injuries after an attack was launched from Afghanistan near the border in Lower Kurram Agency, local media reported on Sunday.

The local administration said that the attack was carried out from the Khost, a province of Afghanistan, on a border post in Laka Tika area.

The Pakistani forces have also launched a counter strike after the attack. An investigation into the incident has been started.

The strike comes days after Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi visited Afghanistan where he met President Ashraf Ghani to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The two countries have been accusing each other of providing shelter to terrorists and carrying out attacks.

Keeping in view the vulnerability, the Pakistan Amry has started fencing the border in order to curtail the movement of militants across the border.
