Saudi Arabia takes important decision over lifting the international travel restrictions

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia is going to ease travel restrictions and lift suspension of international flights from September 15.

According to details, six months after travel restrictions were imposed due to coronavirus, Saudi Arabia has partially lifted the suspension of international flights from September 15.

As per interior ministry, the country will end all restrictions on air, land and sea transport after January 01, 2021.

Meanwhile, all those gulf state citizens and non-Saudis holding “iqama” residency permits or visit visas will be allowed to enter the Kingdom from September 15 provided they have tested negative for the coronavirus in the last two days.

Other “exceptional categories,” such as government and military employees, foreign embassy workers and people requiring medical treatment, will also be granted permission to enter and exit from September 15.

Families separated due to coronavirus lockdown would also be allowed to join their loved ones outside the Kingdom as authorities have included them in humanitarian cases.

Saudis with proof of residency outside the Kingdom may also travel, and there will be a gradual move toward lifting the Umrah pilgrimage suspension.
