Massive losses to telecom companies in Occupied Kashmir may end up in permanent service closure in Valley

SRINAGAR - In occupied Kashmir , telecom sector has suffered a loss of more than ninety crore rupees as lockdown in Kashmir valley continues on 41st consecutive day, on Saturday.

Mobile Internet services have been snapped and calling has also been barred across occupied Kashmir since August 05 when Narendra Modi-led Indian government announced repeal of special status of the territory.

The official of a telecom company said it would become difficult for the operators to continue their services, if Indian government did not lift the restrictions on mobile services and data in occupied Kashmir .

Meanwhile, the Kashmir valley remains under strict military siege on 41st day, today, as hundreds of thousands of Indian troops deployed in every nook and corner continue to keep millions of people confined to their homes.

The humanitarian crisis in the Kashmir valley is deepening further as the residents are facing severe shortage of basic necessities like food stuff, milk and life-saving medicines.
