PCB Awards ceremony, Misbah snatches the spirit of cricket award

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held an award show for the cricketers today where ex-skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was presented the Spirit of Cricket Award.
All-rounder Imad Wasim was declared the T20 Player of the Year while both Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan received Emerging Player of the Year Awards.
For his exquisite captaincy and ICC Champions Trophy 2017 triumph, Pakistan captain in all formats Sarfraz Ahmed was titled Outstanding Player of the Year. Babar Azam and Yasir Shah were awarded with ODI Player of the Year and Test Player of the Year awards respectively.
Only Misbah showed up at the award show which was meant to give a farewell to him as well as prolific Test batsman Younis Khan and Boom Boom Shahid Afridi. PCB announced Rs. 10 million from the three of them. Younis and Afridi, who didn t attend the eve, couldn’t receive their checks. Reports on social media claimed that PCB Chairman Najam Sethi announced to hand over their checks to the Edhi Foundation.
Players from the World XI squad also attended the eve and graced the occasion with their participation in the event.
