NA-120 by polls: All 220 polling stations declared sensitive, Army to be deployed

LAHORE: All polling stations in the NA-120 constituency have been declared as sensitive. According to police sources, all 220 polling stations were declared sensitive to avoid any untoward incident.

Extra police personnel would be deployed on polling day at all stations in addition to deployment of Rangers and Army personnel, added police sources.

The NA-120 seat fell vacant after the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister as a result of the Supreme Court verdict in the Panama Papers case on July 28.

A tough contest is expected between PTI candidate Yasmin Rashid and Nawaz's wife and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s Kulsoom Nawaz on September 17.

In light of the former first lady's ongoing medical treatment in London, her daughter Maryam is spearheading the campaign in the constituency.

Ballot papers for the NA-120 by-election are being printed with the process being monitored by the Army.
