Pakistan Railways take yet another initiative under PM 100 days plan

LAHORE – The Pakistan Railways has taken yet another initiative under the PM 100 days plan.

Pakistan Railways is launching two more new trains in Sindh province from Tuesday, according to PR officials.

The Mohenjodaro Passenger (213-Up/214-Down) will be operated between Kotri and Rohri, while Rohi Passenger (215-Up/216-Down) will run between Sukkur and Khanpur.

Fare between Kotri and Rohri of the Mohenjodaro Passenger will be Rs320 for the distance of 381 kilometres; fare between Kotri and Sehwan Sharif Rs150; fare for Dadu will be Rs190; for Larkana Rs280; and fare between Kotri and Habibkot will be Rs300.

For the Rohri Passenger train, the railways has fixed fare between Sukkur and Khanpur as Rs200 for the distance of 220 kilometres; fare from Sukkur to Rohri Rs25; for Sadiqabad Rs180; while the fare from Sukkur to Rahim Yar Khan will be Rs190.

According to a PR spokesman, the Pakistan Railways will introduce 10 new trains till the end of the current year on the directions of Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.

The railways had already inaugurated the operation of three trains including Mianwali Railcar, Rawalpindi Express and Faisalabad Non-Stop trains during the previous month. On average, nearly 600 passengers have been traveling by newly introduced trains.

A train for low-income people from Karachi to Peshawar will also be launched soon, the spokesman said.

The Railways, on the direction of the PR minister, is also planning to increase the number of freight trains from 10 to 15 within the next 120 days.
