Pakistan Afghan Forces border clash over border fencing

KANDAHAR (AIP) - Clash erupted between the Afghan and Pakistani forces on the installation of barbed wire near the Durand Line in Spin Boldak district on Sunday (October 14).

The gunfight erupted when Pakistani armed forces wanted to install barbed wire in Saro Sahano area in the limits of Spin Boldak district. The Afghan forces did not allow the Pakistani troops to carry out the work. The Pakistani forces opened fire on the Afghan troops.

Both the sides used small and heavy weapons against each other, Kandahar police spokesman Zia Durrani told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

The Afghan forces would not allow the Pakistani troops to install barbed wire on the border, he added.

After the clash, he said the Pakistani forces closed the border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Chaman.
