Ahsan Iqbal responds to the DG ISPR press conference but with caution
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday, while commenting on DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor’s response to the former’s statement, came up with a cautious response.

“We all must speak with one voice to highlight Pakistan’s positive aspects. The military and civil leadership regularly meets at national security committee where we try to create harmony; therefore I’m hopeful that at the level of security committee the civilian and military leadership will continue to bring a hope to the nation and make the world confident about Pakistan,” he said while speaking to Samaa.

Earlier today, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor held a press conference to elaborate on recovery of a Canadian-American family from Taliban custody.

Responding to Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s remarks – that army commented on economy irresponsibly – Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor said the minister’s statement disappointed him.

Ahsan Iqbal had said that: “DG ISPR should refrain from commenting on national economy. Irresponsible statements could hurt Pakistan’s global image.” He was speaking to journalists informally in Washington on Friday.
