The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formally communicated with the Ministry of Law, requesting the initiation of a jail trial for PTI Chairman Imran Khan in connection with the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust scandal.
The communication outlines that Imran Khan was apprehended in relation to the Al-Qadir Trust scandal, following the issuance of arrest warrants by the court on the preceding day.
Furthermore, it notes that the PTI chairman is slated to appear before the accountability court for physical remand on the same day.
Highlighting the prevailing conditions of public law and order, the letter suggests that conducting the trial at Adiala Jail would be more fitting. In accordance with Section 16B of the NAB Act, the NAB contends that the court hearing against Imran Khan should take place within the confines of Adiala Jail.
