Saudi Arabia asks Pakistan to cooperate in a NATO like military alliance of Islamic states

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia asks Pakistan to cooperate to materialize the plan to form a military alliance of Islamic states like NATO.

 

Saudi Arabia offered the proposal on the occasion of joint military exercise of 21 Muslim Nations.

 

It is also claimed that COAS General Raheel Sharif was offered as commander-in-chief of 34 Nations Military alliance after his retirement.

 

The military alliance will be used to combat terrorism and emerging threats like ISIS.

 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS General Raheel Sharif were on an official visit of Saudi Arabia and witnessed the closing ceremony of 21 nations joint military exercise “North Thunder”.

 

Recently Saudi Arabia tried to win Pakistan’s support against Iran and asked to cut off diplomatic ties with Iran but Pakistan decided to play its role as a mediator to diffuse the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran
