PTI demands for AIDS screening in 500 villages

HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Hyderabad division's President Khawand Bux Jahejo claimed that the cases of Aids were increasing in Hyderabad's Rural taluka.
In a press conference here at the press club , he said a recent survey found prevalence of Aids in 15 villages in the Rural taluka.

Wanki Wassi, Massu Bhurgari, Barechani, Mewo Khan Hajano, Hatri, Noonari goth, Rahuki and Tando Jam were among those places identified in the survey, he added.
According to him, the health practitioners had also pointed out a considerable number of cases in Jamshoro and Tando Muhammad Khan districts.

"The Aids Control Program has completed screening in only 15 out of 500 villages in Hyderabad Rural taluka," he deplored.
The PTI leader also lamented that the patients suffering from Aids were being referred to Karachi due to shortage of facilities.

"The authorities should conduct inquiry of corruption and irregularities in the program," he demanded.
