ISLAMABAD - Former South African great, Abraham Benjamin de Villiers has confirmed to visit Pakistan for the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League.
In his video message, he showed his excitement to play the PSL matches in Pakistan, “I am delighted to confirm that I will be playing in front of our home crowd on 9 and 10 March, during the HBL PSL 2019,” he said. “I look forward to revisiting the Gaddafi Stadium”
“I feel I have a role to play in helping international cricket return to Pakistan,” he added.
The 34-year-old batsman recalled playing in Pakistan in 2007, “I am fully aware that cricket is like a second religion in Pakistan and I remember playing in Pakistan in 2007 and receiving great support from the crowd, he said. “I can’t wait to play in Pakistan once again, see you all soon Pakistani fans.”
De Villiers, is well known for his wide range of shots, he had played 228 one Day Internationals for South Africa scoring 9577 runs at an average of 53.50.
He had represented his country in 78 T-20 matches having 1672 runs to his name.
