*RIYADH: Saudi King Salman chaired a cabinet meeting ahead of Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s trip of Pakistan.*
During the meeting, the king authorised Saudi ministers to ink agreements with Pakistani authorities during the upcoming visit of the Saudi crown prince.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Khalid al Falih and other ministers will sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Pakistani officials in various fields.
Source said accords worth $20 billion, including the project of setting up oil refinery, will be inked between the two countries.
The crown prince will arrive in Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan on February 16 (Saturday).
The Saudi crown prince’s two-day visit of Pakistan will further promote mutual cooperation between the two countries, Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal said.
The foreign office in Islamabad formally announced Saudi Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s visit of Pakistan.
Prince Muhammad bin Salman holds important ministries in the Saudi government, including that of the Vice President of the Council of Ministers.
