FM Qureshi to leave for Germany today

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will leave for Germany on Thursday to participate in Munich conference being held to review security situation in Afghanistan.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the Minister said that he will hold meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other world leaders to bring peace in the war-torn country.

He said he will meet his counterparts of various countries, including Russia, Germany, Uzbekistan and Canada and will also interact with key US congressmen and members of the Senate. 

He said at the Munich conference he will present Pakistan's stance on Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan has always supported peace efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad.

During the meeting, they discussed matters pertaining to regional and internal security comprehensively.
