China-Russia step up strategic coordination against assertive US

BEIJING: China and Russia have stepped up their bilateral coordination in the international security scenario as the tensions between US and Russia rise over the issue of Syria and simultaneously US-China tensions rise in the Korean peninsula.
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed Syrian crisis and the situation on the Korean peninsula in a phone call on Friday.
Russian foreign ministry said in a statement that two ministers also discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts.
