6 mln people to have job opportunity through housing scheme project: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday said that as many as six million people would get numerous job opportunities through housing scheme project launched by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), government for low income group.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was concerned about the poor people and launched the housing project, he stated while talking to a private news channel. "We are inviting Chinese companies and overseas Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan, " he added.

He said that a land bank would be established for providing loans to help people in construction of houses.
The PTI government was focusing on attracting foreign investment to uplift the economy, he said.
About Green Pakistan, he said the present government after coming into power had planted some 2,500,000 saplings to achieve the objectives of “Green Pakistan”.
Fawad Chaudhry said that a programme was being launched to expand the tax net.

To a question he said that previous governments had left 157 billion rupees deficit in the gas sector.
To another question he said the PTI government would continue the project of Orange Line and Metro Bus service in Punjab.

He, however said that the PML-N's last government had spent a huge amount on Orange Line project. He said billions of rupees were plundered in the Avenfield case, being faced by Nawaz Sharif.
The minister said some 100 units in textile sectors would be opened soon, where a large scale jobs would be provided to the unemployed people.

About money laundering, Fawad said that nine billion dollar money laundering had been reported during the periods of last governments. Information minister said that Ishaq Dar, the former finance minister was facing a corruption case.
He said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was an independent institution, dealing with the corruption cases.
Replying to a question on Model Town incident, he said the PTI government would provide justice to victims’ families. The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief wanted to investigate the matter of Model Town Lahore.
