PTI government announces one million new jobs for youth: Report

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Youth Programme has recently launched multiple initiatives for the development of the young population in the country. This time it has come up with the long-awaited Start-up programme link to train students for entrepreneurship in the field of technology.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf introduced Kamyab Jawan Program, link the largest undergrad scholarship link program in Pakistan’s history and Youth Empowerment Card link. Prime Minister start-up was announced a few months ago aiming to empower and make the youth more economically independent.

The name of the programme will be the “Start-up Pakistan Programme” and it will run under the “Kamyab Jawan Programme”. The progamme will train one million students from different universities and colleges.

According to an official, under this programme Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) will get funds for the expansion of Business Incubation Centres (BICs).

HEC will use that fund to train 500,000 students for entrepreneurship and it would also use some funds to produce 5,000 graduate startups from different HEC recognized universities through Business Incubation Centres (BICs).

National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) will also provide training to 500,000 students for entrepreneurship and cover 300 technical training centres across the country through blended incubation.

Under this programme the government will engage with overseas Pakistanis from developed countries who are technology geeks and infopreneurs. They will help to train the youth for new technology, entrepreneurship, and market reading,
