Former finance minister Asad Umar elected at key government post

ISLAMABAD - Former finance minister Asad Umar has been elected at key government post by the parliament.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs on Monday unanimously elected MNA Asad Umar as its chairman.

The NA Secretariat’s special secretary welcomed the members and briefed about the procedure regarding the election of the chairman.

Committee member Syed Naveed Qamar proposed the name of Asad Umar as chairman of the committee while Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak seconded his candidature.

Accordingly, Asad Umar was unanimously elected as the chairman of the NA’s Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs.
