IHC seeks detailed reply from ICT admin in district courts shifting case

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought a detailed reply from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration regarding shifting of district courts from Sector F-8 and other issues.

During the course of proceedings, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah opined that family courts should be shifted at separate location while the criminal courts should be near to jails. He also expressed his reservation over the pathetic condition of Bakhshi Khana, set up at the district courts.

However, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that in federal capital’s master plan, there were no plots for district courts and IHC. The bench said, “We have to win the trust of public by providing justice to their door steps.

A model judicial system should be established for residents of Islamabad.” The court sought detailed reply from ICT administration regarding shifting of lower courts and adjourned the case till April 4.
