Pakistan Foreign Office summons Indian High Commissioner

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office has summoned the Indian High Commissioner on Wednesday to record protest and condemned the unprovoked Indian forces firing along the Line of Control on Tuesday in Chirkot sector in which one civilian was killed.

According to reports, the Indian forces continuously targeting civilian populated areas along the Line of Control and Working boundary.

The Indian forces have violated the ceasefire at the line of Control for than 1100 ceasefire times in 2018 and 29 innocent civilians were martyred and more than 117 were injured in these violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.

During last year, the Indian forces started escalation in ceasefire violations and committed 1970 ceasefire violations in 2017.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
