Pakistan NSA- Iraqi ambassador discuss security matters

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Ambassador of Iraq Dr Ali Yasin Muhammad Karim called on National Security Advisor Lt General (r) Nasser Khan Janjua on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two countries and on ways to strengthen the ties further.
Matters concerning regional security and stability also came underdiscussion.
The ambassador shared his experiences of working in Pakistan.
He acknowledged Pakistan's efforts against terrorism and stressed the importance of cooperation in multiple areas, including security, trade and defence.
The National Security Advisor said Iraq was an important Muslim country with rich historical background.
The two countries shared many common values of Muslim brotherhood and were tied to each other through deep historic, religious and cultural bonds, he said adding both countries were facing similar challenges.
Menace of terrorism had affected both countries and through mutual cooperation much better results could be achieved in the fight against terrorism, he added.
