In Afghanistan, fierce fighting continues between government forces and Taliban insurgents for the control of Ghazni city.
A foreign news agency quoting a senior Afghan official, said around eighty security personnel and an unknown number of civilians have been killed in the fighting.
Meanwhile, Afghan army chief Mohammad Sharif Yaftali, said the city is not under threat of collapse and heavy fighting is underway to push back Taliban from the city limits.
He said strategic locations and centers in the city are under the control of government forces and Taliban are hiding inside people’s homes and shops and resisting.
But lawmakers from Ghazni said Taliban are in control of much of the city.
