Former Australian legend slammed Australian cricketers for leaving Pakistani series for IPL

Former Australian pacer, Mitchell Johnson, has slammed the Australian cricketers for preferring the *Indian Premier League link* over the white ball series against Pakistan.
A number of Aussie cricketers including Pat Cummins and David Warner decided against being part of the series against Pakistan in order to be available for the IPL. The former left arm pacer questioned why *Australian skipper Pat Cummins link *was playing in the IPL instead of the white-ball series in Pakistan.
“Give me one good reason why Pat Cummins was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in India this week instead of being in Pakistan playing for Australia? Well there are more than one million reasons but that does not make it right,” he said.
In his first match in the IPL for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Cummins hit a record-breaking half century. He scored 56 off just 14 deliveries.
*Cricket Australia link* allowed the Aussie cricketers to be part of the IPL only after the Pakistan-Australia series concluded. However, top cricketers left the series earlier to fulfil the bio-secure bubble requirements.
“CA barred the Aussies from playing IPL until Wednesday, the day after Tuesday’s T20I match between Australia and Pakistan in Lahore. Nothing to see here. Who do they think they are kidding with childish cover-up? It is a very convenient arrangement all-round,” he added.
Mitchell Johnson deemed it necessary for all the centrally contracted players to be available for the national duty first then play in the IPL.
“It is time for a blanket rule for all centrally contracted Australian players if you want to play in the IPL, then you have first got to be available for every game for your country,” he concluded.
