China backs independent country for Palestinians: Chinese Foreign Minister

China has urged to allow Palestinians the right to build an independent state.
This was stated by China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a joint news briefing with his visiting Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki in Beijing today.
He said Palestinians are still being prevented from having their own independent country even after seventy years.
Terming it unfair, the Chinese Foreign Minister said this kind of historical injustice must be corrected as it cannot continue.
He said it was time to overcome inertia and restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
Maliki said Palestinians appreciated and welcomed China's efforts to facilitate peace.
