12 Lakh Indian Farmers have committed suicide in last 22 years

NEW DELHI - Indian Social activist Anna Hazare has said that at least 12 lakh farmers have committed suicide in the last 22 years in India.
Anna Hazare was talking to reporters during a three-day visit to the state in Bhubaneswar.
He sought to know the number of industrialists committing suicide in the country. He said he would launch an agitation over the farmers issues and the Lokpal in New Delhi.
He said The governments at the Centre and the states are pro- industry and anti-farmers and they behave like "deaf and blind when it comes to meet the farmers' demand.
Hazere said India PM Modi remained silent for all the three years and Modi government has failed to keep its promises made to the farmers before Lok Sabha elections in 2014. He called upon farmers to raise their voice against the injustice meted out to them.
