After Pakistan's defeat to India, Afridi turned to the social media platform 'X' (formerly known as Twitter) to share his concerns about Pakistan's determination in the match. He also offered words of encouragement to the players, urging them to improve their performances in future matches. Additionally, he praised India for their exceptional performance in all aspects of the game against Pakistan.
In his tweet on 'X,' Afridi stated, "Winning or losing is part of competition, but not displaying a fighting spirit, and lacking the intent to win is disappointing. This is exactly what I emphasized in my previous tweet. India displayed top-notch performance in fielding, batting, and bowling. Congratulations to @imVkohli on reaching another milestone of ODI runs, and well done to you and KL Rahul for your well-crafted ????. Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of India, losing by a substantial margin of 228 runs in Colombo on Monday.
In response to India's formidable total of 356 runs, the national team managed to score only 128 runs in 32 overs, marking it as India's most significant victory over Pakistan in One Day International (ODI) cricket.
This loss stands as Pakistan's second-worst defeat in ODI history, with the previous record being a 234-run loss to Sri Lanka in 2009.
It's important to note that due to persistent rain and a damaged outfield, the crucial match between Pakistan and India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup was rescheduled from Sunday to Monday
